Darrell Harrelson

Darrell Ray Harrelson, 76, of Chesterfield, formerly of Fredonia, Kansas, died Sunday, August 19, 2012, after a lengthy illness. Born in Blackwell, Oklahoma, he was preceded in death by his parents, Denver E. and Bessie Harrelson, and a brother, Neil Harrelson. A 22-year veteran of the US Army with service in Vietnam, Darrell later owned the Country House Restaurant in Fredonia. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Edith; two brothers, Gary Harrelson and Bill Harrelson and wife, Sandie; two stepchildren, Betsy Stafford and husband, Barry and Dr. Philip Murray; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. to 12 noon, Friday, August 24, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. A graveside funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., Friday in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg with the Reverend Harry Bowman officiating.
