David Brooks, Jr.

David Brooks Jr. was born on November 4, 1958 in Petersburg, VA to David and Linda Brooks. He served as a member of the United States Army in Korea. He married the love of his life, Luz Nelly Brooks on July 7, 1989. They raised two sons and a daughter together. David loved Jesus and served in many areas of the church, but especially the praise and worship team and special theatrical productions. He worked hard to support his family, and in his spare time enjoyed watching sports, especially Redskins Football. He was a devoted husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.

David Brooks Jr. met Jesus on June 23, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Brooks. He is survived by his father, David Brooks Sr.; his wife, Nelly Brooks; daughter, Tinae (Habacuc); sons, Joseph (Tiffany) and Josiah (Dayana); and four granddaughters, Hazel, Isabela, Lucia, and Anahi. His is also survived by his sister, Angie Brooks; as well as cousins and countless friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Crater Road Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.  Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, Virginia 23805.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
