David Busby Sr.

David Earl Busby Sr., 62, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Chippenham Medical Center. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Courtney G. and Mary Juanita Elwell Busby, and was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin I. Busby. Mr. Busby was a retired driver with Commonwealth Propane, and a United States Navy veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Busby; two sons, David E. Busby Jr. of Richmond and Christopher P. Busby of Colonial Heights; his sister, Beverly Mayhew and husband, Lanny of Dinwiddie; and an aunt, Audrey Elwell of Petersburg. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
