David Nolan Fleet, 81, of Chester, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Born in Strasburg, Virginia on August 21, 1940, he was the son of the late Charles Fleet and Charlotte Sherman Robinson. Mr. Fleet was a United States Army veteran, proudly serving his country while stationed in Korea and Germany. He retired from Exxon as a Terminal Operator in Richmond, Virginia and was the former owner of Fleet Amusements.
David was a past Master of the Powhatan Stark Lodge #124, a member of the Petersburg Masonic Lodge #15, the Petersburg Elks Lodge #237, where he was a past exalted ruler, the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284, the Hopewell Moose Lodge #472, the Richmond Elks lodge #45, the VFW, and the Forty & Eight Voiture #1530.
David is survived by his wife, Carmen M. Fleet; daughters, Freddie Overby (Billy), Alma Gazzola (John), and Ada Thompson (Terry); grandchildren, Nolan Overby, Ashton Overby, Autumn Gazzola, Jacqueline Gazzola, Heather Ballard, and Cody Adams; three great-grandchildren, Joel, Skyler and Luis Gazzola; a sister, Norma Stickley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021, from the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 for a 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23831. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the funeral home.
