David Brenson Martin, 65, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020. Born in Ackerman, Mississippi on September 13, 1955, he was the son of the late Major Edward and Irene Murphy Martin.
David graduated from Colonial Heights High school class of 1974; he received his Political Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and his Juris Doctor degree from George Mason School of Law. David retired from the IRS after 18 years of dedicated service. David was an avid music lover, especially fond of the British Invasion and enjoyed writing books and songs.
He is survived by his siblings, Gary Alan Martin (Becky), Teresa Martin Bishop and Bruce Martin (Robin); nieces and nephews, Christopher Alan Martin (Toni), Jason Ray Martin (Carolyn), Dr. Steven Edward Bishop (Rachel), Tiffany Lynn Heidenthal (Erik), Joshua Bruce Martin and Cade McHale Martin; great-nieces and great-nephews, Charles Raymond Martin, Benjamin Thomas Martin, Lillian Rose Martin, James Phillip Martin, Elizabeth Jane Bishop, William Edward Bishop, Willow Rae Heidenthal and Chloe Rebekah Heidenthal; also longtime friend, Patty Davis.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 20, 2020 in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, Virginia 23805. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 96280, | Washington, DC 20077. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
