David Moore Sr.

David Lewis Moore Sr., 79, of Dinwiddie County, was called home Thursday, May 29, 2014. He was born February 24, 1935 to the late John Richard Moore Jr. and Mary Lou Lewis Moore, also predeceased in passing was a daughter, Anita Lynn Moore, and a brother, John Richard Moore III. Mr. Moore traveled throughout the United States during his career as a well-known heavy equipment and automobile mechanic, all the while making Dinwiddie his home. Mr. Moore is survived by his sister Rebecca "Becky" West, a daughter, Geanie Cliborne (Larry Cliborne) of Prince George; a son, David Moore Jr. (Shiela Moore) of Prince George; a son, Ronald L. Moore (Yvonne Moore) of Dinwiddie; a daughter, Shirley A. Moore; and a daughter, Faye Moore of Dinwiddie; six grandchildren, John Barkley and Melanie Rawlings of Chesterfield, Jennifer Hale Arrington and David Lewis Moore III of Prince George, Robert L. Moore and Richard L. Moore of Dinwiddie; six great-grandchildren, Daelynn Reynolds, Tyler Barkley, Kyle Barkley, Ryan Barkley of Chesterfield, Kayleigh Arrington of Prince George, Kayle E. Henderson of Hampstead, North Carolina;, many extended family members including numerous nieces, nephews and friends; two dearly loved Pomeranians, Scooter and Candy; and girlfriend, Rebecca Dillon, her sons, Tommy and Jimmy Dillon and her daughters, Virginia S. Pope and Cheryl Strowmyer. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road. After the graveside service family and friends will gather at the Dinwiddie Moose Lodge, Chapter 1296, on Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie, Virginia.
