Wayne (Wyatt Earp) Holt

David Wayne Holt, 62, of Courtland, passed away October 9, 2021. He was born on April 14, 1959 to the late Willie Sr. and Lula Holt. He was preceded in death by his brother, Willie Holt Jr. Mr. Holt served seven years in the United States Navy and was a service technician at Sun Chemical. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the B&B Hunt Club. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He loved grilling for family gatherings and was always the life of the party. Above all, he was a devoted father and loving husband who cherished his wife. He is survived by his wife, Margie Holt; daughters, Tracie Lyn Ashley and Kristy Lee Holt; dog, Cujo; grandchildren, Grayson Ashley, Lianna Skye Rayner, Kailee Marie-Lyn Harris, and Joseph Lee Harris Jr.; sister, Teresa Holt Knott (Bobby); and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Interment will follow in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Virginia.   The family will receive friends Wednesday October 13, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral.
