Deborah Sharon Nold Edwards was called home by our Creator Tuesday morning, 3 September 2024. Deborah was born a military brat in Nuremburg, Germany returning to Fort Lee at the age of 4. She grew up in Prince George County, attended Prince George High School (Class of 1980), completed her AS at Richard Bland College and her BS at Virginia State University.
Deborah had an extensive IT career working as a programmer, IT Manager, IT Auditor, and Information Security Officer. She worked for the last 30+ years for the State of Virginia at various agencies including the Office of Emergency Medical Services, Auditor of Public Accounts and most recently, the Department of Treasury. Deborah served in various positions on the Board of Directors for the Richmond Chapter of ISACA and was a life member of the NRA.
Deborah loved collecting “stuff”, her “piling system”, clothes & shoe shopping, watching sappy Hallmark movies and Winnie the Pooh. She was a “steak & potatoes” girl who enjoyed a good peach, fine wine, smooth bourbon, and dark chocolate.
Deborah was the caring, loving, and patient partner of Samuel Cleotelis for the last 32 years. She was welcomed home by her father, James C. Nold; her mother, Herta N. Bresko; her stepfather, John Bresko; her brothers, James Eddy Nold & John C. Nold and her much loved kitty, Ramakin Fluffwalker. Deborah leaves behind her sister, Lynn A. Nold; sister-in-law, Eva R. Nold; and numerous nieces & nephews.
The Cleotelis & Nold families would like to thank the members of Chesterfield Fire Co 18 (C Shift), Chesterfield police officers, Castaldo & Granado, and forensic investigator, Anderson for their care and compassion.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia, 23834.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one of the charities that Deborah supported – International Fellowship of Christians & Jews (www.ifcj.org), Military Care Packages (www.troopathon.org), Hillsdale College (www.hillsdale.edu), or Cuddly.com
