Dell Carlton Staton Jr., 51, of Petersburg passed away Friday, April 5, 2019. He loved the outdoors and travelling. He was also an avid darts player and a member of the Central Virginia Dart Association of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his father, Dell Carlton Staton Sr.; daughter, Nicole Morgan; and brother, Michael Adkins. He is survived by his wife, Diana Chippewa Staton of Petersburg; daughter, Brittany Staton of South Carolina; son, Dell Staton III of South Carolina; stepsons, Dakota and Donovan Jayne; mother, Camillia Calvert (George) of West Virginia; brothers, Derek Staton (Tina) of North Carolina, and Carlos Adkins Jr. of West Virginia; sisters, Denece Sulesky (Bill) of Florida, Deean Tingler of South Carolina, and Tina Maynor (Evan) of West Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members, including the Chippewa family and Grandstaff family. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with Rev. Duane Guridy officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Smiths Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service from 10-11:00am on Wednesday.
