Delories Ellis

Delories M. Ellis, 80, of Matoaca, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Robert O. and Maude Keeter Mayes. Mrs. Ellis was a member of Matoaca Baptist Church, and retired from the telephone company after 35 years. She was a member of the CWA, the Pioneers Club, and the Bell Retirees Club. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, George "Buck" Ellis; children, George M. Ellis Jr. and wife, Carol, Judi Reighard and husband, Danny, and Shirley Ann Poole and husband, Jimmie; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Hall, and Edna Earl High; special niece, Levy Ann Suda; numerous nieces and nephews; and two dear friends, Ann Wade, and Rose Marie Davis. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 in the Matoaca Baptist Church, 6409 River Road, S. Chesterfield County, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Donald Joyner officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
