Dennis Burnette Sr.

Dennis Earl Burnette Sr., 52, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at MCV Medical Center. He was the son of the late Jimmy R. Burnette and Ruth Burnette Lewis. Mr. Burnette was a machinist for Philip Morris Tobacco Company. He is survived by his son, Dennis E. Burnette Jr. of Dinwiddie; a granddaughter, Nevaeh Burnette; sisters and brother, Patricia Burnette-Urda of Bracey, Howard L. Burnette Sr. of Dinwiddie, Mary B. Livesay of Fredericksburg, and Lynda K. Slade of Dinwiddie; step-father, Joseph F. Lewis Jr. of Dinwiddie; two devoted friends, Calvin Adkins and Earl "Pop" DeHart; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in Western Heights Baptist Church, 24416 Cox Road, Petersburg with Mr. Victor Slade officiating. Interment private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Massey Cancer Center, P.O.
