Donald Faison

Donald Wayne Faison, 77, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018. Born on May 5, 1941, he was the son of the late William Lee and Frances Robertson Faison. He was preceded in death by Justine Lynn Faison Good, Janet Patsy Darbyshire, and Barbara Faison Bookman. He was a Deacon and member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Immanuel Baptist Church, the Kiwanis Club, the Moose Lodge and the Optimist Club, and a baseball coach. Over the years, Donnie worked for A. J. Davis, Virginia Department of Highways, City of Colonial Heights, R. D. Holerfield, J. Shropshire, Bishop & Settle, Martz/Beasley, C. Henry Lunsford, J. W. Enochs, the County of Dinwiddie, and Rocky Hill Contracting. He was a jack of all trades including a carpenter's helper, surveyor, assistant engineer/building inspector, estimator/site engineer, engineer, project manager, pipe foreman, concrete foreman, construction inspector, director of building & grounds, construction manager/office manager, and oversaw the survey work on the first runway on Tangier Island. Donnie is survived by his wife, Arlene Price Faison; a daughter, Melissa Faison Crutchfield; granddaughter, Tiffany Lynn Crutchfield; grandsons, Justin W. Jarrell (Heather) and Richard Trey Good III; great-grandsons, Lucas Wayne Crutchfield and Keegan Jarrell; great-granddaughters, Aeva, Justis, Taryn, and Emma Jarrell; sister, Frances Levell Faison Webster (Herb); sister-in-law, Janett Price Boyce; brother-in-law, Darby Darbyshire; numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with Mr. Donnie Newton officiating. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
