Donald W. "Blow" Harris, 78, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Roger W. Harris and Kathleen A. Bailey. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Karen Harris. Mr. Harris was a United States Air Force veteran, and retired in 1995 as a Shipper from Allied Signal. He was a member of the Petersburg Old Geezers Organization, a regular member of the Pickwick Barber Shop Gang, a founding member of the Colonial Heights recreation football league, a baseball umpire, and a founding member of the Courthouse Hunt Club. An avid fisherman, Donald loved spending time at his vacation home in Wanchese, North Carolina. Most of all, Donald was a loving husband, father and a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie C. Harris; children, Kathi Jo Harris-Temple and husband, Van, Kelli H. Ewick and husband, Norbert, Terrance D. Harris and partner, Joseph Pubillones, and Troy D. Harris and fiancée, Cheryl Lewis; grandchildren, J. Harris Wilson, D. Mason Lemocks, S. Thor Ewick and fiancée, Courtney Crowder, Weston K. Ewick and Julia E. Harris; sisters, Doris Wickens and husband, George and Shirley Gougoulis; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
