Donald (Don) Harvey Lehsten, 88 of Prince George died suddenly on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Dinwiddie Health and Rehab Center with lengthy health issues.
He was the son of the late Harvey and Mary Maslowsky Lehsten formerly from Buffalo, NY
He was born on August 21, 1936, in Buffalo, New York and moved to Virginia in 1954 with the family.
He is predeceased in death by his wife of 42 years Helen Jones Lehsten who died August 23, 2024. He is survived by his sister Carol Lehsten Kelly, nieces Megan Kelly Wible (Chris), Colleen Kelly Riggs (Chris), nephews Jay C. Kelly (Marci), Sean T. Kelly (Lisa, and his beloved dog "Cody", along with his great nieces, Nicole K. Tyler, Madeline Riggs, and great nephews Paul Kelly, David Kelly, Aidan Kelly, Tanner Kelly, Nicholas Riggs and 6 great-great nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Bishop Timon Catholic High School in Buffalo, NY and attended one year of college at RPI, now VCU in Richmond, VA. He was a loyal employee of I. E. Dupont of Chesterfield, VA for most of his adult life until he retired.
He was a proud member of the Richmond Air Force National Guard and spent a year in Texas with the guard.
Donald was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Petersburg, VA and a longtime member of the Catholic organization, Knights of Columbus of Petersburg, and member of "POGO" organization of Petersburg, VA.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 3, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 151 West Washington St., Petersburg, VA. A Mass of Resurrection will follow the visitation on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in the church. A burial will follow immediately at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 West Hundred Road, Chester, VA. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Online condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
