Donald Martin

Donald Robert “Donny” Martin, 59 of Colonial Heights, passed away suddenly at home, Tuesday, September 21, 2021.  He was born September 11, 1962 to the late Ralph Martin and Carol VanNess Doss.  He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Little Angel.  Donny is survived by his wife of 25 years Gail Allen-Martin; three daughters, Jamie Lesher, Cheri Valverde (Gil), and Miranda Martin (Orlin); 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Brenda Sadler (Freddie) and Becky Hanshew (Mark); three nieces, Tiffany Sawyer (Robert), Shana McNew, and Brooke Sadler; one nephew, Cody Hanshew; a devoted friend, Frank Reed; a loving cat, Kahne Kahne; and numerous aunts, uncles, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.  Donny grew up in Petersburg where he went to Petersburg High School.  He was an artist who enjoyed painting, writing and poetry.  Donny loved hanging out with his friends in his “man cave” and will never be forgotten by all who knew him.  He will be truly missed.  A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Va 23834, with interment to follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, Va.
