Donald "Donnie" Alfred Sipos, 66, of Disputanta, went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2012 at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg with his family at his side. Donnie was born on July 2, 1946 in Petersburg to his beloved parents, Alfred and Florence "Flossie" Sipos. After serving in the United States Army Reserve, he married his wife, Sharon, on November 22, 1980. He is survived by his wife; children, Brett and Candace; daughter-in-law Ashley; granddaughter, Evangeline, who called him "Paw Paw"; three brothers-in-law, David, Dennis and Randy; three sisters-in-law, Brenda, Karen and Elizabeth; and numerous nieces and nephews. His loyalty held strong on many fronts: to his family, Colonial Heights Baptist Church and his 34-year-strong career as a machinist at Alcoa, to name a few. His sense of humor and dedication to those around him will be sorely missed by all. An avid outdoorsman, Donnie loved animals and could often be found fishing. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 3935 S. Crater Rd.. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 Interment to follow at Blandford Cemetery.
