Doris Edwards

Doris Auwaerter Edwards, 81 of Colonial Heights died Wednesday December 3, 2008 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Friedrich and Amalie L Schmid Auwaerter, and was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Garland Edwards, and her canine companion Buck. Mrs. Edwards was a member of the Colonial Heights Kingdom Hall of Jehovah‘s Witness. She is survived by her son Garland (Eddie) Ulrich Edwards and wife Barbara of Midlothian, Thomas (Tommy) F. Edwards and fiancée Patti Williams of Colonial Heights, Timothy J. Edwards and wife Patricia of Colonial Heights, Jeffery L. Edwards and wife Joy of Hopewell, a brother Fritz Walter Auwaerter of Welzheim Germany, a sister Hanna A Rube of Schorndorf, Germany, one granddaughter, Erika L. Edwards and fiancée, Wayne Newsome II of Colonial Heights, one step granddaughter, Lynn C. Moore, extended family, Courtney McKenna, Gracie Upton, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will take place Saturday December 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory 2033 Boulevard. Burial will follow in Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Va. The family will receive friends Friday December 5, 2008 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
