Dorothy Holzner Bryant 92, of Colonial Heights, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Brighter Living Assisted Living in Hopewell. She was born October 30, 1923 to the late Leo J. and Hattie Loving Holzner and was preceded in death by her husband Alfred L. Bryant a brother David Holzner, two sisters, Alice Clarke and Marguerite Simmons. Mrs. Bryant was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Colonial Heights and worked for Rucker Rosenstock for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley T. Cook of Colonial Heights, two granddaughters, Angelia Higgins of Chester, and Sheila Boykin of Colonial Heights, four great grandchildren, Phillip W. Boyce Jr., Crystal Boyce, Ashlyn Boyce, Chloe Keeton, two great great-grandchildren, Dezja and Shane, one brother Robert C. Holzner and wife Brenda, a sister in-law Joyce Holzner, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia with the Reverend Fred Adkins officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church 620 Lafayette Ave, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
