Dorothy Rooks Ferguson Dorothy Rooks Ferguson of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Colonial Heights, she was the daughter of the late Julian W. Rooks Sr. and Ada Phillips Rooks. Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Allen Ferguson; a son, Bruce Craig Ferguson; daughter-in-law, Lorri Ferguson; a sister, Evelyn Rooks Hannuksela; and two brothers, Julian W. Rooks Jr. and Carl Marion Rooks. Mrs. Ferguson was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Douglas Wayne Ferguson and wife, Barbara Harris Ferguson; three grandchildren, Neil Ferguson, Grant Ferguson and Kristy Ferguson Budny and husband, Alan; two great-grandchildren, Ella and Cole Budny; three step-grandchildren, Ben Reekes, Joshua Reekes, and Meghan Reekes; several nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Carolyn Morris and husband, Rennie. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23831 with the Reverend Jerry Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
