Dorothy Jennings

Dorothy L. "Mama Dot" Jennings, 82, of Dinwiddie, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late James William and Janie Turner Leslie. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Ernest Jennings; son, James Thomas Jennings and grandson Daniel Ryan Jennings. She was a member of In his Foot Steps Christian Center. Dorothy is survived by her three sons, John W. Jennings of California, Robert L. Jennings and wife, Vicky of Dinwiddie, Michael L. Jennings and wife, Kathy of Dinwiddie, two sisters, Bertha Hendricks and husband, Eff of South Hill, Jean Shield of Chesterfield, one brother David Leslie and wife, Betsy of Chesterfield; nine grandchildren, Rachel Jennings, Chad Caudill and wife, Jessica, Courtney Jennings, Brian Jennings and fiancé, Sarah, Brett Jennings, Daniel Martin and wife, Beth, Brandon Martin and wife Melissa, Hunter Martin and girlfriend, Brooke, Taira Lee; four great grandchildren, Daniel Jr., Shyanne, Kamryn and Aulbrie. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Steve Gardner and Reverend Tammy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow Sunset Memorial Park Chester; Virginia The family will receive friends Thursday (tonight) from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. at the funeral home.
