Dorothy “Dotty”, “Dot”, Mae Outlaw, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2025, after a long fight with cancer. Dot was born September 17, 1943, in Chesterfield, Virginia. She retired from Honeywell in 2001, after working for 35 years. After retirement, she devoted her life to caring for and spending time with her grandkids, great-grandkids, and her doggies. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister. She was an active member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed a nice dinner out with friends and a fun trip to the Moose. She loved working in her flower beds and planting fresh flowers in the Spring. She was a strong and independent woman who was loved by many and will be deeply missed. She leaves behind her two sons, Edsel Bland Jr. (Kaye) and Donald Ray Bland Sr. (Lynn), and was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Hill (Brian). She was a grandmother to 9, and a great-grandmother to many. The family would like to thank Crater Community Hospice for their great care and support during this difficult time. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia, 23834. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Online condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com
