Durwood Michael

Durwood Michael 68, of Matoaca, passed away Tuesday September 29, 2015 at his residence. He was born October 5, 1946 to the late Calvin Barnes Michael and Alma Webb Michael and was preceded in death by his sister Judy Treaster. Mr. Michael was a United States Navy Veteran, and retried from Virginia Power as an electrician. He is survived by his niece Tracy Cochran and husband Glen of South Carolina, great-niece Kassie Cochran, great-nephew Michael Cochran and numerous cousins. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday October 2, 2015 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia with the Reverend Donald Joyner officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children 29002 Rocky Point Drive Tampa, Florida 33607 or to Matoaca Baptist 6409 River Road S. Chesterfield, Virginia 23803. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
