Dwight Wheeler

Dwight D. Wheeler, 72, of Prince George passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Born January 18, 1946, he was the son of the late Eugene Wallace and Irma Webb Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler was a veteran of the United States Air Force, after proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. He worked for Hercules Inc. for 10 years, then moved to Philip Morris, where he retired as an electrician after 25 years of dedicated service. He was the family MacGyver, always tinkering with various projects around the house. Dwight loved spending time with his family and enjoyed spending his time at his home at the Chesapeake Bay. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna Wheeler; sons, Christian Wheeler and wife, Darby, Kevin James Wheeler and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Declan and Jaxon; sisters, Rebecca Holdsworth and husband, George, Stephanie Thompson and husband, Allen, Susie Bohon and husband, Dave; grandpups, Zeus and Tinka; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, February 25, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals For Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
