Earl Slate

Earl L. Slate Sr., 89, of Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010. He was the son of the late Frank S. and Ethel Slate, and was predeceased by his wife, Shirley E. Slate and son, Earl L. Slate Jr. Survivors include his son, Richard Sterling Slate Sr. of Colonial Heights; daughter, Deborah Slate Williams of Petersburg; three grandchildren, Craig W. Slate, Richard S. Slate Jr., and Sarah F. Slate all of Colonial Heights; a step-grandson, Ryan Moody of Petersburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. Steve Felker officiating. Interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George.
