Edith Celestia Heazlit Dryfuse, 94, of Colonial Heights passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at CJW Medical Center - Chippenham. Born May 22, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Eva J. Stuart Heazlit and Guy F. Heazlit of Cecil, Ohio, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert Leroy Dryfuse, O.D.; son, Steven Robert Dryfuse of Williston, Ohio; brother, Robert. F. Heazlit of Clarkston, Michigan; sisters, Ruby J. Heazlit Stevenson of Antwerp, Ohio, and Evelyn J. Heazlit Jackson of Ayersville, Ohio. Mrs. Dryfuse graduated from Paulding High School in Paulding, Ohio. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Tiffin, Ohio and was a member of the Luther Fellowship Group and the Fidelis Class. As a graduate of Bowling Green State University, she began teaching in McClure, Ohio and later taught at Miami and Noble Schools in Tiffin. After retiring in 1981 with 26 years of service, she enjoyed her time being an active member of many organizations, such as the Order of Eastern Star #189 in Tiffin, the Tiffin Ladies Shrine Club, Dendorah Court #10 in Toledo, Ohio, Tiffin Women's Club, the Lady Lions, the American Association of University Women, and the Tiffin Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Sue Dryfuse Wasilewski and husband, Robert of Colonial Heights, Virginia; grandchildren, James Robert Wasilewski and wife, Rachel of Richmond, Virginia, and Jeffrey Alan Wasilewski and wife, Sarah of Huntersville, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Embry Jameson Wasilewski and Turner Landon Wasilewski of Richmond, Virginia and Lilly Ann Wasilewski of Huntersville, North Carolina. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
