Edith Evans

Edith Peffer Evans, 95, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Evans, Sr.; and a grandson, Thomas H. Evans III. Edith was a very active lifelong member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and was the Secretary of the Petersburg Baptist Association for many years. She was very active with many various senior groups in the tri-city area. She is survived by her son, Thomas H. Evans, Jr. and wife, Joan; daughter, Rebecca Seward and husband, Dennis; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria P. Crowson; devoted niece, Karen A. Peffer; and numerous other nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 620 Lafayette Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with the Reverend Steve Lalk and the Reverend Jerry Parker officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, February 4, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
