Edith Porter

Edith T. Porter, 73, of Matoaca passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Carroll and Mary Loftis Thomason, and the widow of Alvin Gerald "Pete" Porter. Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Thomason. She was a member of Matoaca United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Denise P. Kiser; two sons, Kenneth Gerald "Sam" Porter and wife, Terri, William Timothy "Tim" Porter; eight grandchildren, Chadd Porter, Jonathan Kiser, Clay Porter, Jennifer Kiser, Lauren Porter, Emily Porter, Samuel Porter and Annie Waggoner; siblings, Helen T. Simmons, Maxwell L. Thomason, Eleanor T. Fox, Carolyn T. Waltman, Lowell E. Thomason, and Jean T. Laine. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Matoaca United Methodist Church, 6301 River Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Richard S.
