Edmond Jones Jr.

Edmond W. Jones Jr., 83, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015 at MCV Medical Center. He was the son of the late Edmond W. Jones Sr. and Beatrice Stringfield Jones. Mr. Jones was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284, the 40&8 Voiture #1530, and the Colonial Heights Moose Lodge. He was a United States Air Force veteran. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Gray Jones; two daughters, Jackie Kelly (Doug) and Beatie Cook (Roger); a son, Wayne Jones, all of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Corey (Nikkie), Britney, Justin (Gina), and Jason (Kristin); great-granddaughters, Hadley and Olivia; a sister, Jane McEvily of Connecticut; numerous nieces, nephews, and his faithful companions, Roxie and Otis. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, 6329 Mill Swamp Road, Ivor, Virginia 23866. An American Legion Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Colonial Heights Fire & EMS, P.O. Box 3401, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
