Edna W. Fryar, 72, of Colonial Heights, loving and devoted wife and mother, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at her home in Colonial Heights, Virginia. She was born July 28, 1944 in Petersburg to the late William A. Williams and Mildred Palmer Kinney and was preceded in death by a loving sister, Brenda W. Berman. Edna was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a former special education aide with the Colonial Heights Public Schools. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leslie P. Fryar; two daughters, Tracy L. Fryar of Colonial Heights, Tammy F. Kopp and husband, Charles of Colonial Heights; grand dogs Lucky and Bonnie; a half-brother, Teddy Kinney, Jr. of Oklahoma; loving nieces, Sharon Keefer and husband Timmy of Yorktown, Crystal Gilbert and husband Mark of Connecticut and her children Ian, Ryan, and Ashley Wheeler. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3701 Conduit Road Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with the Reverend Raymond McGarr and the Reverend Dr. Donna Mott officiating. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011. The family is being served by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
