Edna Lorey

Edna Sommer Lorey, 79, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at her residence. Born in Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Gustave F. and Nuna Morrison Sommer. Mrs. Lorey was preceded in death by her husband, Albert C. Lorey, and a brother, Philip Sommer. Edna was a retired Registered Nurse from John Randolph Medical Center with 22 years of service and was a member of the Colonial Heights Senior Bowling League. She is survived by her children, Lanis Williams and husband, Joe of Sutherland, Shirley Lorey of Chester, and Craig Lorey of Colonial Heights; three grandsons, Matthew and Colton Williams of Sutherland, and Dustin Lorey of Chester; a brother, Logan Sommer and wife, Esther of Ottawa, Illinois. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George with Pastor Jeff Hill officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060
