Edward Cox

Edward R. Cox, 59, of Disputanta, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. He was born September 14, 1958 in Lynchburg, Virginia and was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Mae Swain Cox. Edward was a boilermaker with Local #45 and was very proud of his job, he enjoyed fishing, and was a loving family man. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Bettie J. Cox; sons Nathaniel R-W Cox, and Chris Henson; father, Alfred R. Cox; sister, Denise Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 in the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
