Edward Gibson Sr.

Edward Cecil Gibson Sr., 95, of Chester went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2009. Mr. Gibson was a native of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, and a US. Army veteran of WWII. He was a retiree from DuPont in Richmond. He is survived by his three children, Edward C. Gibson Jr., William S. Gibson, and Emily A. Gibson; a brother, Glenn Gibson; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2009 in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester with the Reverend Dr. John W. Daniel officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday (tonight) at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Zuni Presbyterian Home, 5279 Homegrown Lane, Zuni, Virginia 23898.
