LCDR Edward "Qball" Kubilus USN Retired, 88, of Dinwiddie, Va., passed away in his sleep on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg. A native of Shenandoah, Pa., he was the widower of Bernice Kubilus and the son of the late Albert and Mary Kubilus. Mr. Kubilus served our country proudly for over thirty years. He started his working career at the CCC Camps in Southwest Virginia and ended his career retiring from the U.S. Navy at the Little Creek Amphibious Base in 1971. He is survived by two sons, BUCS (SCW) Kenneth J. Kubilus USNR (RET) and his significant other of 25 years, Annie J Overby of Virginia Beach, Va. and Richard A. Kubilus and his wife, Olga of Wellington, Fla; grandson, Richard Kubilus Jr. of Texas; great-grandchildren, Caylee Breian and Braden Kubilus also of Texas; his extended family in Columbia, South America, and a friend, Myrtle Watson of Dinwiddie, Virginia.
