Edward Parker

SFC Edward R. Parker United States Army (ret.), 78, of Petersburg, died on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born in Marquette, Michigan, and was the son of the late Delbert and Mildred Lenore Parker. Mr. Parker was a retired SFC having over twenty years of service in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam and receiving numerous medals, including the Bronze Star Medal. He is survived by his wife, Brunhilde Parker; a son, Wolfgang Parker and wife, Brigitte of Radcliff, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Carina Parker and fiancé, Reggie Gatlin, Edward Parker and wife, Kristie; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Andrew Parker both of Radcliff, Kentucky; three sisters, Mary Johnson, Sandy Runion and Joan White; three brothers, Leonard Parker, Mike Parker and Joseph Parker; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Parker were private. Arrangements by the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road.
