Edward Powell

Edward Jackson Powell, 86, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022.  He was born on February 29, 1936 in Halifax County, Virginia to the late Hester Edward and Ellen Louise Grady Powell.  Mr. Powell was also preceded in death by a son, Ed Holloway; a nephew, Terry Powell; and his longtime companion, Isabelle Fristoe.  He was a United States Army Veteran, and a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Dinwiddie Lodge #1993.  Mr. Powell is survived by two daughters, Donna P. Lucy, (Steve) and Tami Stout; two sons, Gary Holloway and Roger Claytor (Katie); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Powell; and a nephew, Mark Powell.  A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday,  July 11, 2022 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Rev. Robert Rowland officating.
