Edward Lee Riggins, 80, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 in Colonial Heights Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late, Lewis L. and Annie Talley Riggins, and was preceded in death by a son, Steven Lewis Riggins. Mr. Riggins was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, the U.S. National Guard, and the Colonial Heights Moose Lodge. He was a retired circulation manager with the Progress Index newspaper. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores Riggins; children, Charles Edward Riggins of Colonial Heights, Gayle Lynn Braswell and husband, Fletcher of Colonial Heights and Brian Lee Riggins and wife, Jeanie of Drewyville, Virginia; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Lewis Wayne Riggins and wife, Sandra of Colonial Heights; two nephews; and a special caregiver, Cecelia (C.C.) Brown. A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Moose Lodge, 170 Moose Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
