Elena Presnell

Elena Intrepido Presnell, 87, of Colonial Heights went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Born on February 24, 1934 in Monfalcone, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Cosimo Intrepido and Maria M. Ramires and was also preceded in death by her sister, Gina Intrepido Parkin.

Elena was a member of Fort Lee Memorial Chapel parish for over 50 years. She retired from Titmus Optical, Inc. with over 25 years of dedicated service. A loving mother and wife, Elena devoted her life to taking care of her family. As a military wife, she opened her home to anyone that needed a place to be and knew no strangers.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Haston Presnell; son, Steve Presnell and wife, Janet; daughter, Tammy Respass and husband, Chris; three grandchildren, Christopher Presnell and wife, Kylie; Ashley Fisher and husband, Jason; and Kyle Respass; four great-grandchildren, Greyson, Brooklynn, Grady, and Landon; sisters, Vincenza Efting and Antonietta Tutt and other extended family members and many beloved friends.

A funeral mass with be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 in the Fort Lee Memorial Chapel, 901 Sisisky Boulevard, Fort Lee, VA 23801. All guests will be prompted to provide identification before being permitted to enter Fort Lee, so please make sure all adult passengers bring a valid form of identification. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia Court House, VA 23002. A rosary service will take place from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 and afterwards the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
