Elfriede Banks

Elfriede C. Banks, 84, a native of Germany and a resident of Prince George, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2010. She was the widow of John R. Banks CSM (USA Ret.). Mrs. Banks was a very active member and Past President of the Petersburg American Legion Post #2 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Banks is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Hamby and husband Bill, of Disputanta, Ann LeMire and husband Keith of Prince George; grandchildren, Johnathan Hamby of Prince George, Lindsay Hamby Fetko and husband George of Floyd, VA, Kristin LeMire and Justin LeMire of Prince George. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The Ladies Auxiliary Chaplain of Petersburg American Legion Post #2 will conduct the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Virginia, 7231 Forest Ave., Suite 100, Richmond, VA 23226. Arrangements are being provided by the Petersburg Chapel of the E.
