Elizabeth Cabaniss

Elizabeth S. Cabaniss, 86, of Chesterfield, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Chesterfield, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Anna Pride Spiers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lewis Cabaniss. Mrs. Cabaniss was a member of Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church, and a retired Registered Nurse from the former Petersburg General Hospital. She is survived by two sons, James Cabaniss of Chesterfield and Carl Cabaniss and wife, Julie of Disputanta; a daughter, Kay Cabaniss of Disputanta; a brother, John Spiers of Chesterfield; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester with the Reverend Nathan Decker officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
