Elizabeth Hicks

Elizabeth "Betty" Wynn Hicks, 83, of Dinwiddie, VA passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Dinwiddie Health and Rehab Center. Born in Petersburg, VA she was the daughter of the late Leonard Rogers and Annie Alma Rogers Wynn; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Bright T. Hicks; one brother, Thomas Wynn (Elva); and three sisters, Jeanette W. Young (Bill), Jean Brintley and Edna Hartman (Richard "Smiley"). Mrs. Hicks was a former member of Memorial United Methodist Church. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her three children, Gregory L. Hicks, Tim W. Hicks (Jackie) and Pam H. Stanford (Mike); two grandchildren, Ashley Nicole and Michael Cody Stanford; one brother, Frank Wynn (Helen); a sister, Alice W. Spain; two sisters-in-law, Teressa P. Hicks and Jane H. Buren; a brother-in-law, Jack Hicks (Sally); devoted neighbors, Donald/Francine Schmidt and Ronnie/Becky Pierce; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to Make A Wish Foundation in memory of Mrs. Hicks.
