Elizabeth Dowling "Lil" Lewis, 93, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012. She was the daughter of the late William H. and Nettie Cliborne Dowling, and the widow of Warren S. "Smokey" Lewis. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church. Known as "Nannie" to all who knew and loved her, she spent the last 6 years at the Haven Assisted Living in Mechanicsville, where she enjoyed many happy days and warm friendships. She is survived by her daughters, Jean B. Farlow and husband, Tom of Colonial Heights and Lorraine B. Mitchell and husband, Bill of Richmond; three grandchildren, James C. Hamilton and wife, Tammy of Chesterfield, Jeffrey L. Hamilton and wife, Fawn of Lake Hills, Texas and Michelle C. Fudala and husband, Brent of Florence, Alabama; six great-grandchildren, Jay, Rachel, Courtney, Holden, Luke and Brock. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 with a Memorial Service to begin at 4:00 p.m. in Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church, 17120 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Richard Geoghegan and the Reverend Robert Edward Dowling officiating.
