Elizabeth Tucker

Elizabeth P. Tucker, 92, of Colonial Heights, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Tyler's Retreat. She was born October 11, 1924 in Rocky Mountain, North Carolina to the late James H. and Annie Cowan Padgett. Mrs. Tucker was the preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Tucker. She retired after 30 years of service from the administrative office of the Petersburg Public School system. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Second Chance Baptist Church in Petersburg, a former President of the Sunshine Club, and a former Sunday School Teacher. She is survived by her son, Rev. Dennis E. Tucker and wife, Jean of S. Chesterfield; a grandson, David Tucker of Dallas, Texas; one granddaughter, Lisa Smith and husband, Adam of Henrico; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Alex Smith. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with the Reverend David Prather, officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 23 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
