Elizabeth Witt

Elizabeth (Doodie) Francis Witt, 82 of North Carolina, formerly of Colonial Heights, Virginia passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Robert E. Francis and Judith Dowdy Francis. Mrs. Witt was a long time member of Immanuel Baptist Church and worked many years with Petersburg General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Roy Witt, Sr. and sister, Doris Tipton. She is survived by her children Russell (Roy) Witt Jr. and wife, Gwen of Colonial Heights, Cathy W. Davis and husband, Don of Burlington, North Carolina, Gail W. Hinnant and husband, Tim of Wendell, North Carolina and John E. Witt and wife, Janet of Midlothian; eleven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren; a brother, William (Bubba) Francis of Florida; sisters, Joyce F. Burcham of Colonial Heights and Gwen F. Vincent of Skippers. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday May 3, 2012 in Immanuel Baptist Church, 620 Lafayette Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with Reverend Fred Adkins officiating, Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin E. Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
