Ella Newcomb

Ella M. Newcomb, 90, of Virginia Beach and formerly of Hopewell, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Sentara Nursing Center Windermere, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mrs. Newcomb was the daughter of the late Richard Matthew and Nanny Brooks Crouch, and the widow of Meredith A. Newcomb Sr. Mrs. Newcomb is survived by two sons, Meredith A. Newcomb Jr., and David O. Newcomb both of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Gwendolyn E. Branzelle of Virginia Beach; a nephew, Richard M. Fogg of Sutherland; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with Reverend David Prather officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2008 at the funeral home.
