Ellen Lee

Ellen Faye Lee, 71, of Colonial Heights, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was born June 20, 1945, to the late Clarence A. and Willie Lucile Octavia Merten Lee. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, she went on to be a Deputy at the Henrico Sheriff's Department for 10 years. Ellen had also earned an Associate of Science degree in Computer Programming, as well as serving as a director of several cosmetology schools. Ellen is survived by a son, Oliver "Pete" Leo Pettry, III.; daughter, Nancy JoAnn Stephens and husband, Danny Stephens, Jr.; grandchildren, David Sprinkle, Jr., Diego Stephens, Julie Stephens, Jessica Pettry, and Danielle Stephens; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Florez, Gabby Fowler, Bella Fowler, and Alyissa Stephens; three brothers, Charles Gorman Lee, Clarence "Pete" Lee, Wayne Lee and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will be Private. The family will receive friends Wednesday, one hour prior to the service from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
