Elli Meta Maria Pieklik, 89, of Colonial Heights, passed away at home on Thursday, February 15, 2024. Born on December 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Otto August Herman and Emma Ida Hermine Genz and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Walter G. Stockhaus, her second husband, Major General Joseph E. Pieklik, and her son, Axel Stockhaus.
Elli was a loving wife and mother, known to many as “Oma”, who provided steadfast support to her neighbors and the entire Fort Gregg-Addams community. She was the 2019 recipient of the Quartermaster Catherine Greene award and was an honorary member of the Army Quartermaster foundation. Elli was also a member of the Fort Gregg-Addams Area spouse’s club, the German ladies group, and the Fort Gregg-Addams retired wives group.
Elli is survived by her sons, Michael W. Stockhaus, and Ralf Stockhaus; daughter, Anita Ward; stepsons, John Pieklik (Linda), Mike Pieklik (Susan); and her sister, Ingrid Nicolaisen of Germany.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church, 13028 Harrowgate Road Chester, Virginia 23831. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Army Quartermaster Foundation, 13203 North Enon Church Road A-210 Chester, Virginia 23836.
