Eloise Blankenship

Eloise Allen “Mimi” Blankenship, 83, of Midlothian, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 27, 2023. She was born on January 3, 1940 to the late Albert Alvin “Casey” and Lennie Bear Allen and was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Blankenship; and many other family members. She was a longtime member of  Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and many organizations within her church. She was a member of the Dancing Grannies, she loved to travel, and her passions were reading and caring for her fur babies. Eloise is survived by her children, Robert Lee Blankenship II of East Bend, North Carolina, Allen Neal Blankenship (Mary) of Colonial Heights, Kathleen Elizabeth “Cookie” Blankenship of Midlothian, and Casey Irby Blankenship (Brooke) of Harrisonburg; grandchildren, Jason, Courtney, Ashley, Brittany, Nicole, Macy, Casey II, and Jonny; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen Allen-Bruneau King, Paula Allen Gehman, and Nancy Blankenship Simmons; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Ave., Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with Rev. Steve Freeman officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m. Funeral arrangements made by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Richmond Animal League (ral.org/donate).
