Elsie Marie Jones

Elsie Marie Jones, 92, of S. Chesterfield passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024. Born June 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Burton Luther and Gracie Marie Boyd, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Bob Steele Jones; son, Eugene Livesay; granddaughter, Gina Livesay; eight brothers and five sisters. 

A lifelong homemaker, Elsie grew up with a passion for nurturing others, a gift she carried throughout her life. She took great pride in her family and enjoyed creating a welcoming space for all who entered her home. Her kitchen was the heart of her household, where she poured her love into every dish she prepared. From holiday feasts to quiet weeknight dinners, Elsie’s cooking brought people together.

She is survived by her son, Bill Ellis; daughter, Tammy Williams and husband, Donny; four grandchildren; and a total of nine great-grandchildren, 2 of which, Anthony and Lilly Shelley, were raised by Elsie and her husband.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 17, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
