Elva Jaqueline Carsley Bryant, 90, of Colonial Heights passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her residence. Born January 10, 1928 in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Benjamin Thomas and Martha Saunders Carsley, she was the widow of John Wilbur Bryant, and was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda A. Harris, Deborah Bryant Walker; three brothers, Bernard Jackson Carsley, Winburne Thomas Carsley and Gerald Durwood Carsley. Elva retired after 30 years of service from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. She is survived by her son, Robert Bryant and wife, Janna; grandchildren, Daphne Atkinson-Marshall, Lisa Akers, Elaine Bryant, Scott Bryant; great-grandchildren, Eric Dillenbeck, Gary Dillenbeck, Gabrielle Dillenbeck Ragland, Alexis Rakestraw, Cheyenne Akers, Isabella Bryant, Sophia Bryant, Mason Bryant, Alieghia Turner, Abby Turner, Sofia Longo; several great-great grandchildren; nephew, Mark K. Carsley; nieces, Brenda D. Carsley, Claire Carsley Goulder; and Marilyn Carsley Greene. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 2834, with the Reverend L. Raymond McGarr officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S.
