Elvia G. Hoke, 78, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Ernest L. and Elvia Elliott Rawlings. Ms. Hoke was a member of Family Worship & Praise Center, Hopewell. She is survived by her loving son, Melvin Ray Hoke Jr. of Colonial Heights; a brother, Ernest Leo Rawlings Jr. and wife, Carolyn H. Rawlings of Hopewell; a sister, Patsy Miller and husband, Jack Craig Miller Jr. of Disputanta; numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23831 with Dr. David Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
